  1. Background
    1. Mission
      To provide holistic care and support service for late-stage cancer patients and address the psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients and families/span>

  2. Service
    1. Inpatient service
      Located at H1 Palliative and Hospice Ward, the palliative care unit provides inpatient service and symptom control care for late-stage cancer patients. Once their symptoms are under control, they will be discharged.
    2. Specialist clinic
      Palliative and oncology doctors provide outpatient consultations for optimal symptom control. The centre also houses a treatment assessment clinic, where medical specialists and clinical psychologists convene with patients (and their families) to discuss best treatment options for them.
    3. Palliative nurse clinic
      Experienced nurses offer assessment, symptom relief, emotional support, care training and family consultation.
    4. Home visit
      Home visit nurses pay visits to homes or residential care institutions for assessment, care, medication guidance and psychological support.
    5. Volunteer service
      Trained volunteers partner with medical team to offer support, care and encouragement in various activities to increase their quality of life.
    6. Bereavement support
      When patients pass away, individual and group counseling service is offered to families to help them adjust to their loss. Young survivors will be referred to Children and Family Bereavement Counseling Centre for further counseling.
    7. Social activities
      A variety of social and leisure activities such as birthday parties, outings, festival celebrations and well-wishing activities foster mutual support between patients and families, and lessen caregiving stress.
    8. Educational information
      Regular educational seminars and information leaflets allow patients and families to learn relevant knowledge and skills in caregiving.
    9. Medical equipment loan service
      Aid equipment such as wheelchair and walking frame are on loan free of charge. For more details please enquire staff.
